Welcome to second grade in room 4!  My name is Ericka Montes and I have worked at Colonial Acres for the last 6 years. I live in Hayward, where I was born and have lived most of my life. My family is from El Salvador, and because of that I try to inspire my students to be proud of their Latino backgrounds and bilingual abilities.

College
I received by Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies (2011) and my Master of Arts in Teaching (2012) from the University of San Francisco. I was originally studying to be a journalist, but my experiences working with children throughout high school and in college motivated me to pursue a career in education.

District Tools I Use 

Attendance  
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App

Report Cards  
I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

Gradebook
I have not started to use the Aeries Standards-based Gradebook, but will update my Teacher Page when I begin using it.  If you are subscribed to this page, you will be notified via email.

Sangha Interactive App
I will be relying on the Sangha app to communicate with families in a protected, password-protected environment.  Please download the app and log in using the parent-guardian email that was used for enrollment or data confirmation.
